Empowering One Family at a time

The Transitional Housing Program (THP) was developed in 1989 to provide a safe place for young families, headed by single mothers between the ages of 18-35, to begin the process of creating permanent life changes. By providing affordable subsidized housing, direction through education, job skill training, and case management, the process of creating permanent positive life changes is allowed to begin.

All program women are expected to comply with program guidelines and adhere to both house and personal contracts developed together addressing her and her family’s needs. These contracts outline an educational plan, job training, therapy referrals and childcare arrangements. Weekly on-site visits allows us to observe the family as a unit and assess any potential issues with parenting skills, budgeting, food availability, cleanliness and the overall appearance of the family dynamic. Transitional Housing is available to our families for up to two years as long as they remain compliant to all program rules.
