Penny Pickers...The Care Center's (& Southern NH's) Most Unique Fundraiser!
Here’s what it’s all about!
Volunteers canvas neighborhoods going door to door collecting pennies and spare change! People are expecting the Penny Pickers and a lot of people actually save their pennies all year long in anticipation of this event!
We need 2 ½ - 3 hours of your time with a partner. Teams are 2 or more people, and one must be a driver because all those pennies get really heavy!
When you come to registration, we give you a map of the area you’ll be picking (you can request a particular neighborhood if you’d like…first come, first served…so we recommend signing up early!) along with a bright yellow “smock” that distinguishes you as a CARE CENTER PENNY PICKER, bags to hold all those pennies & a sample conversation. (We also send you off with awesome cookies baked by the Holiday Inn of Nashua & FREE Pepsi products!)
When you’re done picking your area, you return to CITIZENS BANK, 238 Main Street, Nashua, and turn in all supplies & money!
Penny Pickers is great for folks of ALL ages! (Heck, we even have someone who puts a smock on their dog and brings her along every year!)
Once you do it once, you’re hooked! If you fit into any of the categories below, WE NEED YOU TO VOLUNTEER TO BE A PENNY PICKER (you can do it as many times as you like!)
