Securing the Future Campaign is underway

Over the years, NPCC has seen cuts in federal funding, reductions in United Way general funds, and an increased number of nonprofits forming. For all these reasons, the Board and staff when formulating its three-year plan nearly two years ago, decided that NPCC needed a secure, financial avenue in order to continue providing for our programs in carrying out our mission - helping families with basic necessities to overcome a crisis and to become self-sufficient.

To ensure the Care Center continues to empower families and promote self-sufficiency for generations to come, we have embarked upon an effort to establish an Endowment Fund of $500,000. This purpose of the Fund is to:

• Supplement essential program budgets
• Implement new programs
• Enhance existing programs
• Address unexpected capital needs with the transitional housing sites

It is our hope that we will meet our goal within the next six-nine months, but we need your support to do it and hope you will consider joining this special campaign. Your contribution will help for generations to come - it is truly the gift that keeps giving. There are three methods of giving available:

• A Pledge of Support - Most are offering a pledge that they will fulfill over a 1-3 year period. Some make annual pledges, while others fulfill their pledges semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly.

• Outright Gifts - NPCC has received many one-time, outright gifts towards the campaign.

• Gift of Stock - For some people, a gift of appreciated securities is an attractive way to fulfill their pledge. With this type of gift, a donor can avoid paying capital gains tax and still qualify for a charitable income tax deduction.
